The Ipil-Titay Water District joins the Local Water Utilities Administration in observing World Water Day 2025, bearing its theme ” Bayanihan sa Katubigan, krisis sa klima labanan”.
Water is a finite and vital resource, essential for human survival, agriculture, industry and ecosystems. However, with growing populations and changing climates, water scarcity is becoming an increasingly serious issue. Water conservation is the practice of using water efficiently to reduce unnecessary water usage and preserve this resource for the future.
TIPS ON HOW TO SAVE WATER:
1. Check for Leaks – Check and improve leakage of water, faucets, and toilets regularly. Small leakage that is not improve can cause significant waste of water.
2. Use Water-Efficient Appliances – Install water-saving devices like low-flow faucets, showerheads, and energy-efficient dishwashers and washing machines.
3. Take Shorter Showers – Reducing shower time by a few minutes can save gallons of water each time.
4. Turn off the faucet when not used – Turn off the water faucet when brushing teeth, washing hands, or washing the dishes to avoid unnecessary water waste.
5. Collect Rainwater – Use rainwater storage tanks to collect rainwater that can be used to water plants or clean the yard.
6. Schedule your Laundry Day – Let all your dirty clothes accumulate before washing it to save on soap and water.
The water used in rinsing the clothes can also be used in rinsing and flushing the toilet.
By fostering a culture of water conservation, we can ensure that future generations will have access to the water they need.
